At least three professional linguists work on each assignment: a translator, and editor, and a proof-reader. Each of these will have been selected for the particular assignment due to their experience in the relevant field; for example, a medical translation will be assigned to linguists with experience in the relevant area of medicine. The same will be true for legal translation, financial translation, or any other field.
On completion of the translation, the editor assigned to the project will review and refine the document, ensuring that the document will read just as well in the target language as it did in the original.
The final stage in the quality control process is accomplished by the proofreader, who will compare the translation with the source document, so as to be sure that the translated document is a true and complete representation of the source.
